02 / Read a higher-dimensional field
What changes when we move through an unseen axis? A prescribed set of shadows only constrains part of a higher-dimensional object. Here the question shifts to constructing a rich field across the hidden coordinates: hold the camera still and move W to reveal a new 3D slice of the same five-dimensional field.
Extra space is useful only when its slices are useful
A shape reconstructed from projections may be absent over much of a hidden coordinate. That can be undesirable if the coordinate drives an animation. Procedural, periodic constructions offer another design route: distribute structure across coordinate directions, then choose one coordinate as the playback parameter.
Coordinate symmetry and looping are different from strict rotational isotropy. The time label here describes how the application samples a field; this is not a physical spacetime model.

Try this first · separate movement from slicing
- Set Time flow to zero, then move the 5th axis slider. Shapes change without a camera move.
- Switch Space → Time → Pair. The axis labels show which coordinates now fill the view.
- Try Tilt and compare the T–W heatmap. It samples the same field across two hidden coordinates.
X, Y and Z span the view; T and W select the remaining coordinates. This is an interactive field visualization, not a claim that a 3D image displays every higher-dimensional detail at once.
